Webinar Transcription

In this webinar, the expert speakers will present how InSituPlex® assays provide researchers with robust tools for studying complex biological processes, particularly in the context of cancer research and personalized medicine.

InSituPlex® assays provide sensitivity and specificity of biomarker detection comparable to the current clinical gold standard while enabling a deeper dive into the tissue microenvironment with advanced cellular phenotyping with the co-detection of multiple biomarkers within a single cell.

InSituPlex® technology has transformed multiplexed immunofluorescence assays with the detection of proteomic biomarkers through the use of DNA oligo-labeled primary antibodies, paving the way for advanced biomarker detection with a fast, simple and modular workflow.

The expert speakers will present how the proprietary isometric single-molecule signal amplification mechanism of InSituPlex® technology enables a high dynamic range of biomarker detection, crucial for accurate detection of biomarkers with low or varying expression levels. They will demonstrate how the recent advancements by Ultivue and Leica BioSystems facilitates a simple and robust workflow for gaining high-confidence biological insights at scale with completely validated InSituPlex® assay protocols on BOND RX research stainer by Leica Biosystems.

Register for this webinar today to know how InSituPlex® technology can revolutionize translational research and personalized medicine with multiplexed immunofluorescence assays.

About the presenters

Michael McLane
Michael McLane , Field Applications Specialist II – Life Sciences, Leica Biosystems

Michael McLane is a scientist with the Life Sciences Field Applications team at Leica Biosystems. Michael’s experience includes extensive troubleshooting and mIF assay development in both industrial R&D and academic research settings. With experience working for PIs at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Michael brings an intimate understanding of the need for reliability in automated multiplexing to his work supporting histology labs in the field.

Gourab Chatterjee
Gourab Chatterjee , Director of Product Strategy and Management, Ultivue

Gourab is currently leading Ultivue’s Product Strategy and Management. He is a Biomedical Researcher with extensive experience in assay/technology development for molecular pathology and diagnostics. Over the last seven years, he and his team have created groundbreaking advances in biomarker detection technologies to support translational researchers with an end-to-end solution that provides clinical-grade biological insights to validate clinical trial hypotheses.

He led key research efforts towards development and launch of Ultivue’s foundational InSituPlex® (ISP) assays and expanded its applications with OmniVUE™ and U-VUE® biomarker panels. Currently, he is leading strategic initiatives across Ultivue’s portfolios by combining its core technologies (InSituPlex® and STARVUE™) towards having a transformative impact on precision medicine.

Gourab holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from University of Washington Seattle where he developed novel DNA-based nanosystems that can perform molecular computation inside living cells.

Angela Vasaturo
Angela Vasaturo , Director of Scientific Affairs, Ultivue

Angela Vasaturo is the Director of Scientific Affairs at Ultivue with a strong background in translational onco-immunology and consultancy on biomarker panel design.

Prior to Ultivue, Angela was a Senior Researcher in Dr. Jerome Galon’s Laboratory of Integrative Cancer Immunology at the Cordeliers Research Center. Angela was a postdoctoral researcher in the field of Tumor Immunology at the NCMLS in Nijmegen, NL, and was the recipient of an EMBO short-term fellowship, amongst others.

Angela was among the first postdocs in Europe to be involved in the development of multiplex IHC and multispectral imaging and analysis of up to six immunofluorescence markers, and today is considered a leading European expert in multiplex IHC techniques, digital pathology, spatial biology and tissue imaging.
